Indecent Neighbor – Woman Told To Wear a Bra In Her Private Yard

Having your own house or apartment unit comes with plenty of luxuries, like security, privacy and a nice place to call home. Although there are usually some neighborhood rules that residents need to follow, most of the time people are free to do whatever they like in the comfort of their own home. With that being said, it’s still important to make sure that residents don’t disturb their other neighbors with certain activities, such as blasting their music at high volumes, revving their car engines or mowing their lawn at odd hours of the night.

One woman, in particular, has grown to enjoy the luxury and privacy of having her own outdoor space that is covered by fencing and hedges. Despite this, her neighbor and her neighbor’s child sometimes disturb her during her moments of peace and serenity while she is enjoying her time outside. The woman has come to really enjoy sunbathing and spending time outdoors to help her relax. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to do so on one summer day.

On June 3, 2021, the woman uploaded a detailed post on Reddit describing the issues she had with her neighbor and the neighbor’s indecent comments and rude commands. Having a safe space where you can be out of sight of others and protected by hedging and a fence, the woman felt comfortable enough to sit outside in the hot sun while pregnant without wearing a bra under her shirt. The two argued, but the woman stayed adamant that she was right to defend herself.

In her Reddit post, the woman mentioned that every place in her neighborhood was managed by the same hedge trimming company that came to trim the hedges a few times a month. This hedging, along with cedar fencing, has helped keep her ground-level patio out of sight from passersby.

Since it was such a hot and sweltering day and the woman was 32 weeks pregnant at the time, she sat on her outdoor furniture without wearing a bra under her shirt to help keep her cool. Her neighbor and the neighbor’s kid came by to check if the hedge trimmer had been by yet, all the while the child was “tearing through the garden and complaining.” The woman also mentioned that the kid had a tendency to lift herself up high so she could peer over the fence into the woman’s yard. Before the family left, the neighbor told the woman to wear a bra while outside the house.

“Sore, annoyed, and now VERY angry,” the woman was upset that her neighbor had the audacity to come over to her private patio and tell her she was “indecent” for not wearing a bra under her shirt, so she yelled at her to leave and to never come over unannounced again. 

The two adult women were at odds with each other, as the neighbor was upset that the woman yelled at her in front of her child, but the woman felt like her personal space had been violated. “I’m not a confrontational person at all, but this was the last straw,” the woman wrote in her post, still defending her own actions.
