Ah, the 50s were a delicious decade for being alive. WWII had come to an end, unemployment and inflation were low, and to celebrate it all, was rock and roll. The blues, jazz, gospel, and country combined, expanded and evolved into a toe-tapping variety all its own.

What is Rock and Roll?

Rock and roll is a symbol of a changing culture where everything from clothes to attitudes was formed into what we see today. Songwriters and bands were formed and brought a personal touch and meaning with each beat of a song. Bill Haley & His Comets are a great example of taking a simple melody and turning it into a social dance floor extravaganza.

The most popular song that this group is remembered by is Rock Around the Clock. The group is credited for giving inspiration to Americans and Europeans to honor their heritage with joyful times.
