In Memoriam: Prince's Life Through Images

It is hard to believe that four years have gone by since the music legend Prince sadly passed away in 2016 at the age of 57. His music lives on, but he has left us with so much more than his songs. Each image below tells a different story.

Prince was the ultimate performer. He gave 100 percent to every show he put on. Fans will remember him for his passion and musical genius. Prince never stopped amazing his audiences with his energy, giving them jumps, stage dives, and stunning choreographed dances.

The album "Purple Rain," really propelled Prince to stardom. The film of the same name was equally as successful. According to Hollywood Reporter, the singer won an Oscar, two Grammy's and an American Music Award for the soundtrack to the movie.

As well as being an-all round entertainer, Prince was a style icon. He was known for his flamboyant costumes on stage, extravagant dress sense, and never shied away from makeup, accessories, and above all–sparkly things!

Prince was married twice. His marriage to his first wife, Mayte Garcia, 46, in 1996 lasted four years. They had a child who was born with Pfeiffer syndrome type 2, and sadly passed away days after his birth, reports People. The singing icon's second marriage to Manuela Testolini in 2001 lasted five years. The pair later divorced.

One of his most iconic performances was at the 2007 Halftime Press Conference at the Superbowl, reports US Weekly. He struck gold with his moves, and always made sure he engaged with the other performers and dancers on stage with him. He was a talented musican, amongst the instruments he could play were the guitar, drums, and piano.
