Dogs from the Catania area that have no home to call their own are welcome to sleep in the store at night. They are provided with comfortable bedding and warmth. If the temperatures are cold during the day, then the store tries to make accommodations for them at that time as well.

Martine Taccia is a customer who recently saw what the store was doing for the dogs. She believes that it's a good idea that should be considered by other Ikea stores or by other retail stores in general that have furniture and the supplies available to keep animals warm.

Employees give the dogs food and care for them like they are their own. Some of the customers have taken food to the dogs in the store as well. There are a few dogs that have been adopted by employees and customers so that they have a home.
