Robert Finley was born and raised in Winnsboro, Louisiana, he grew up with a passion for music but he put the duty of his country and raising a family above his own interests. But now almost 50 years later, Finley showed the judges on “America’s Got Talent” that he didn’t let his passion slip away from him no matter how many obstacles life threw at him.

The 65-year-old slowly began losing his sight four years ago and today is almost completely blind. At 18 years old, Finley fought for his country in the Vietnam War, when came home he started a family, and eventually got a job in his hometown to support them.

“Sometimes the bad things bring out the good things because I began to play my music again,” Finley said on the show, “It’s like I'm 65 and I’m finally coming alive and living my childhood dream.”

Finley walked out onto the "America's Got Talent" stage to perform for the judges. He explained to the judges who he was and why he is decided to try out for the talent show, "I had to lose my physical sight so I could see my true destiny," he said.

Julianne Hough asked him what he would be performing for them today to which Finley replied “An original song called 'Get It While You Can.'" The crowd started to cheer and then quieted down and waited for Finley to begin. The beat of the song drops and then Finley breaks out into a soulful ballad, the audience starts cheering, and the judges' mouths drop.

After Finley’s show-stopping performance, judge Julianne said, “You might not be able to see us but I hope you can feel us," To which Finley said, "I feel it all over" as he rubbed his chest. Judge Simon Cowell also compared Finley’s voice to that of aged wine, “The finest wines are the ones that stay in storage for a few years and they become beautiful and that’s how I feel about your voice, you didn’t have that voice when you were 17, 20 years old, right?”

It’s safe to say Finley blew the judges and the audience away with his performance and we wish him luck as he keeps working towards his dream!
