Identical Twin Sisters Seen Having 'First Fight' In Womb During Ultrasound

My oldest daughter and her brother are always fighting. I’m used to it after dealing with it for many years, and anyone who has children close in age are probably also just as used to it.

Every once in a while I do catch them playing together happily. Sometimes they get along great, but other times they act like they cannot stand one another. While I don’t always understand their rivalry, as I grew up an only child, I know that it can be quite normal.

Recently, a soon-to-be-mother went in to receive an ultrasound. The young mother, along with the father, are from China. The scan showed them that she was carrying twins. However, these twins were anything but ordinary. Most twin babies have their own amniotic sacs, meaning they spend their time in the womb separate from each other as they develop.

But this young mother has monoamniotic-monochorionic twins, also known as “MoMo” twins. The twins have developed from one egg-sperm combination that split up into two. The embryos developed one single sac that they share. It sounds like cramped quarters, if you ask me!

The video of the ultrasound shows both of the girls facing one another as their little heads jostle around. But if you look at the video carefully, you will see their little legs pushing back and forth. But what happens next is even funnier! The two babies begin to punch at one another.

The video was uploaded to a social media platform known as Douyin. It received more than 2.5 million likes and has since been shared to other platforms.

Mr. Tao is the soon-to-be-father of the young girls who were already “boxing” with one another in the womb. He thinks that it is also funny that they are internet stars even though they hadn’t been born yet.

The ultrasound was performed because MoMo twins can face serious risks, such as developing a kink in the umbilical cords. This was the reason that Mrs. Tao was having another ultrasound, as the doctors noticed lower vital signs in one of the babies.

The babies have since been delivered via C-section and are doing well.
