East Idaho News' Secret Santa contest came to Abby Toone's door this year after she lost her husband in a freak accident. Toone who is widowed with four children was given $10,000 by a secret Santa in the community.

It has been a rough few months for Abby and her family. Last September, her husband Jonathan Toone was stung by a swarm of wasps while out working on his Idaho property. The 37-year-old U.S. Army Reserve soldier suffered a massive reaction after the stings according to Inside Edition. Jonathan immediately drove for help but did not make it before he collapsed and died in his wife's arms.

The anonymous Santa, who has donated to $250,000 for East Idaho News to deliver to deserving indivduals in the area, has been doing this for the last four years. Whether it be new cars, clothes, or cash, the generous Santa has been helping people in need for numerous holiday seasons. Santa relies on the help of elves to deliver the gifts to the deserving families.

With four children under the age of ten, Abby admits that life since that tragic day has been a struggle. The young widow burst into tears when she saw the check for the massive amount of money that had just been gifted to her.

As a popular area cosmetologist, Abby is known to give back to customers in need. It is karma that a member of the community was able to help her out this time.

After delivering the check, the staff at East Idaho News invited the children to go for a helicopter ride over the beautiful snowy mountains. After a trying year, it was a simply beautiful day for the entire Toone family.
