Ice Bumper Cars Grow In Popularity As A Trend In Ice Skating

One of the things that is most enjoyable about winter has to be all of the winter activities that come along with snow and ice. Activities like skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating routinely come to mind but there is now a new activity to choose from as well.

If you haven't heard of ice bumper cars, they are a winterized, slippery fun take on traditional bumper cars. Imagine inner tubes on studded wheels with motors on an ice rink. Some rinks are dedicating certain times for the ice bumper cars, while others have bumper car rinks popping up all over the country from Rhode Island to Colorado. Many ski towns are opening them as alternative ways to enjoy the winter fun when not enjoying the slopes.

While the times and rules vary by location, this fun new activity allows all ages to enjoy the fun! Kids can usually drive an ice bumper car alone as long as parents sign a waiver allowing them to but it's a pretty tame activity, reports Lock 3. The ice bumper cars glide smoothly across the ice and only move a few miles per hour.

Ice bumper cars are becoming so popular in many places that, for example, in Snowmass, Colorado, vacationers can participate in the "Game of Stones," where the bumper cars are going to be included this year. And, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado, 5280 reports that the resort has been completely turned into a winter wonderland complete with colored ice sculptures that tell the story of Rudolph, ice skating, tubing, and of course the ice bumper cars.

So, if you enjoy winter sports and have never had the opportunity, don't miss the fun and frivolity of ice bumper cars. And be sure to tell all your friends as well! And, as always, we'd love to hear what you think about this new winter activity!
