Husky Puppy Tells Owner She Loves Him

Dogs are incredibly smart animals. What's more, they've been loyal companions to people around the world for thousands of years. Dogs are always letting their humans know how they feel. Whether that means dipping into a play bow or dashing under an outstretched hand to be pet, they're very clever about how they communicate. But Bella, a Husky puppy, may be the cleverest dog of all. She's learned how to literally talk to her human as seen in a Youtube video posted all the way back in 2009.

Chatting With Her Human

The viral video uploaded to YouTube in 2009 is focused on a puppy named Bella. This very good girl has found a way to actually speak with her human! At his urging, she repeats his words. When he tells her "I love you," she responds in kind. Bella barks one short, sharp "I" bark, followed by longer "love" and "you" ones. There's nothing sweeter than this dog talking back to her loving owner. Over 7 million people have seen this adorable moment on YouTube. In fact, it's become a proper viral hit.

Following Up With Bella

Even better than the original is the follow-up video, made years later. Baby Bella is all grown up into a majestic looking Husky. These are traditionally sled dogs. They love being part of a pack, and they're very vocal. Huskies aren't shy about baying, howling or barking. Everyone already had evidence that Bella was particularly communicative. In the follow-up, she howls and barks as the video of her younger self plays. She's still able to shift her pitch and make those same sounds. The short, sharp "I," followed by a "love" and "you" sound.

Like all dogs, Bella will never truly speak. But the world loved seeing the video of a puppy who loved her human so much that she found a way to speak to him. Dogs are truly special animals, and they love their human "packs" deeply. They are always finding a way to let people know how much they love and value them. Dogs like Bella remind everyone that humans are very lucky, indeed; not every species gets to have such a loyal companion.
