Husbands Create Video As They Wait For Their Wives To "Just Run In" To Retail Shop

In today's video-oriented world, it was bound to happen. Someone had some time on their hands and decided to have some fun. These guys got together to make a video bemoaning the fate of men who wait for their shopaholic wives. In particular, they made a video about standing strong together in the face of crushing... boredom?

You may have seen some of these guys online before. Penn Holderness is known for his Holderness Family songs. Charlie Berens is a comedian. Taylor Cadmus has the Dude Dad Facebook page. Myles Montplaisir is the face of You Betcha. Getting these self-made comedians together to satirize our shopping culture was a great idea. It's had some unexpected results, too!

In the video, the men do whatever it takes to pass the time in the parking lot outside of Target. Their wives are shopping their little hearts out inside the store. The men invent amusing solutions to fend off boredom in this popular satirical sketch. Taylor Calmus collects shopping carts – and gets paid to do it. According to Head Topics, he says, "Last week I clocked 12 hours."

Another brings his homemade jerky to attract other bored husbands. They develop strategies for watching the kids while playing poker. Along the way, they bond into a cohesive unit of dry-humored men who make fun of shopping, parenting challenges, and even the tropes of manliness. Big screen TVs and football in the parking lot? Don't forget the barbecue!

So, if you know someone who sits in the parking lot waiting for their shopping wife, make sure they get to see this video! It's become a lead video in the media genre known as "parking lot humor." Since we've all experienced parking lots and their subcultures, we can all get behind these men and their humorous support group. The fact of the matter is that they started a Facebook page for husbands in the parking lot, and it already has over 2,000 members. So maybe the video was made for fun, but real friends have connected because of it. It doesn't get any better than that.
