We all like to pretend that we aren’t that deeply influenced by the media. Yet, no matter who you are and how much willpower you have, we are all influenced by the media to some degree. It may just be seeing an ad for a sale on those jeans you’ve been eyeing all summer. But it can also be more serious than that…much more serious.

In the past few decades, body image has become a major issue affecting almost everyone. Through television shows, commercials, websites, blogs, and even the news, we seem to have become obsessed with diet supplements and hardcore fitness classes that claim to burn close to 1,000 calories in a single session. While we are making definite strides to celebrate all body images, it is certainly still an issue.

"I love this woman and her curvy body."

That’s why a single Instagram post from a man named Robbie Tripp in San Francisco celebrating his wife’s “curvy body” went viral almost instantly. The post from a man named Tripp about his wife’s full-figured body is being celebrated all across the world. The body started out by sharing his love for his wife and her curvy figure. It then went on to say how he was teased for always being attracted to women on the more curvy side. He talks about how he educated himself on how women were brainwashed to be thin and tall by the media before sharing how much he likes a “big booty” and “thick thighs.”

"Guys, rethink what society has told you that you should desire."

As the post goes on, Tripp implores men everywhere to rethink society’s version of the ideal woman. He shares that a true woman shouldn’t look like or need to act like a porn star, mannequin or movie star. He shares that a real woman is real and has those little flaws that make her so special. He also tells women to never feel themselves to feel like they have to fit into a physical mold in order to be loved.

Tripp ends his post with another declaration of his love for his wife, Sarah. As the post went viral, men around the world were tagging their wives and girlfriends in it and sharing how much they loved them.

Others might feel that the post falls a little flat in its wording. In a segment titled "Hero husband or fake feminist?" on Good Morning America, the question is posed about Robbie's intentions. Some might say that the post comes off as a back-handed compliment, pointing out the woman's "flaws" and essentially saying that he still loves her anyway. Author Rachel Simmons also likens it to when dads are congratulated for babysitting their own kids. She argues that it's a husband's job description to love his wife, so why is it news?

What do you think about Robbie's Instagram post? It is a sweet love letter to his wife and all curvy girls out there or does it fall too short? Let us know in the comments below.
