Some hunters have been with the sport their entire lives. Their dad or mom taught them to hunt and it's what they've always known. But that doesn't mean that they will stay a hunter forever.

One man who had been a hunter his whole life chose to put down his gun when he came face-to-face with an injured fawn. It's a dramatic turnaround that will tug at your heartstrings.

Ten years ago, Aladino Montes was hunting and exploring in northwest Spain. He suddenly noticed something strange. A fawn was following a large herd of cows. That's pretty weird behavior, so Montes decided to take a closer look, he told Zoomin.TV.

When he got closer, he realized that the fawn had lost its mother, somewhat like Bambi. The fawn was now looking for a new mother figure and thought they would find a mom in the herd of cows. However, the cows weren't willing to welcome the little baby deer in. That's when the baby deer turned to Montes for help.

Montes actually named the fawn Bambi and took it home. This new bond ended up having a dramatic impact on his life. Something about being with this delicate woodland creature changed Montes forever. He couldn't hunt or kill animals anymore after the encounter and raising Bambi as his own little friend.

The two now spend a lot of time together. Montes runs a bar on his property, and Bambi will sometimes follow him right inside. Tourists will come to the bar to get a glimpse of Bambi and Montes.

Other deer in the region now trust Montes because they see how much he cares for Bambi. But that's not all. After saving Bambi, Montes has now saved some other animals, including a fox.
