Are you getting tired of all these coronavirus lockdown measures? Well, you’re not the only one feeling antsy; in fact, the rampant effects of social distancing are starting to reveal themselves in full. As it stands, humans aren’t the only species impacted by widespread quarantine measures.

For proof, just check out this horde of goats as they stampede through San Jose, California. Captured on video by resident Zach Roelands, the goats broke through a fence and took to the streets en masse last month.

Who needs a gold rush when you can have a goat rush? As you can observe firsthand, more than 200 goats gathered to stomp through this unsuspecting town. Their impromptu romp was a total spectacle to behold. Luckily, these critters’ crazy animalistic antics were captured for Twitter’s enjoyment by user Zach Roelands, and more than four million views have already been tallied. As he described alongside the video upload as reported by Independent, “This is the craziest thing to happen all quarantine.”

Protesters aren’t the only ones hitting the streets these days. Ever since we collectively began the process of self-isolation, wildlife has been encroaching upon our man-made habitats. It’s almost as if they are taking back the land that humans have temporarily abandoned. These unrestrained goats seem to have a singular mission in mind, and it’s absolutely bewildering to watch this herd charge in the same direction.

While they are clearly marching for freedom from the farm, there’s nothing standing in the way of a few stragglers who decide to take a break for the sake of munching on some nearby shrubbery. These unusual circumstances make for a particularly riotous snack time, and it’s downright adorable.

Bystanders occasionally try to intervene and redirect traffic, but these goats cannot be dissuaded from their mysterious calling. Despite unleashing a little roadside rampage, these lovable creatures are astonishing in their overall orderliness. It’s mind-blowing how they move in nearly perfect unison. Every billy, nanny, and kid seems to be in lockstep with one another. The hive mind is apparently extra-strong among this fuzzy assembly. Their sense of purpose is simply beyond comparison.

Just like all fun things in life, this parade had to end eventually. Fortunately, a local rancher was able to help navigate the group towards safety. The entire escapade took about five minutes, but the calamitous adventure was an ordeal that these friendly mammals will remember for a lifetime. These goats will probably be passing down the tale for generations to come.
