Human Comes Home From Work And His Pet Iguana Greets Him Just As A Dog Would

Pets usually greet their owners when they get home after a long day at work. It's their way of showing how much they've missed their human mom or dad. Dave Durham's pet also greets him when he gets home, in the same way a dog would, however, he isn't a dog, but an iguana. This video from 2014 is part funny, part adorable, but completely worth a watch!

Pets are always happy to see their human friends. Although the image that comes to mind is usually that of a dog jumping up, tail wagging as it licks its owner, many other pets also do this. Cats, horses, and even reptiles like Buddy the iguana.

Most people wouldn't associate reptiles as being warm, affectionate animals. But Buddy is incredibly friendly and close to his owner, so much so that when he sees him arrive home from work, he runs across the yard to greet him. When Dave calls out his name he rushes over to him just like a dog would!

When Buddy reaches Dave on the patio, it almost looked as if he was going to give his finger a little bite – as though he is telling Dave off for being gone so long. But as soon as Dave puts his hand on Buddy, it's clear the iguana just wanted to be patted and stroked.

Buddy is a giant Cayman Brac iguana, reports Honest to Paws. Iguanas are one of the most common types of lizard pet. According to Toronto.com, "Iguanas are able to recognize their owners and family, have a great memory, are affectionate, live 15 to 20 years and can be trained to eat, sleep, and go to the washroom at desired times and places." They behave almost exactly like a dog!
