A study at the University College London proved that a temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit (or 40 degrees Celsius) can significantly improve period cramps. According to Dr. King, who led the study, the period cramps are caused by a reduction in blood flow which causes pain. Heat improves the blood flow, therefore decreasing the pain.

  • Put both hands on your back, just under your ribs. Move and massage your hand down to your tailbone and back up again. Repeat 30 times.
