How Meghan Markle Paid A Lovely Tribute To Princess Diana On Social Media
Long gone but not forgotten. Years after her death, Princess Diana is still at the forefront of the minds and the hearts of her family members.
To celebrate the occasion of Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, and Australia, Meghan Markle took to social media to post a tribute to her late mother-in-law. Although the Duchess of Sussex never had the opportunity to meet her husband's mother, it is clear that she wants to honor her memory.
Meghan and Prince Harry became new parents on May 6 when their bundle of joy finally made his long-awaited appearance. Named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the new baby boy is the latest addition to the royal family and is Diana's fourth grandchild.
Meghan posted a lovely picture of her hands cradling the sweet newborn feet of Archie. In the background of the beautiful photo was a bush of forget-me-not flowers. The caption of the photo read "those lost but forever remembered" in its tribute to mothers of all kinds.
It is appropriate that the forget-me-not flowers were included in the photo. In addition to its symbolic name, the flower was also known to be one of Princess Diana's favorite kind of blooms. The garden at Kensington Palace was recently filled with the flower as a tribute marking the 20th anniversary of her tragic death in a car accident in Paris.
The flower had been one of Diana's favorite ever since her brother, Earl Spencer, began the tradition of presenting his sister with the blooms.
Harry and Meghan moved out of Kensington Palace last March in order to create their own home at Frogmore Cottage. However, they then took the time to fill their new garden with the distinctive flower.
It is clear that the memory of Diana lives on in the hearts of her sons and now her new grandson.
