How Hungry Is He, Eating A Plate Of Lasagne, While Driving At 60MPH

When you’re driving along the highway, there are all sorts of cautionary signs to be alert for aggressive drivers, heavy merge points, and to beware of distracted driving. There have yet to be any signs erected to warn drivers to pull over before consuming a full, plated meal.

Video of one driver has appeared that indicates those signs may be on the way. A man was captured on video enjoying an Italian meal of lasagna and a side of garlic bread, all while driving at approximately 60 miles per hour!

Eating while driving is not entirely unacceptable per se, but there are foods that can be eaten while driving and there are foods that absolutely should not be eaten while driving. It’s easy to munch on an open bag of snacks or a helping of french fries. Healthier drivers can easily munch on an apple or a banana while safely driving. The specific limits of which foods are safe for driver consumption and which are not is open for debate, but we think that both sides can agree that a plate of lasagna far exceeds even the most liberal limitation.

Our lasagna lunatic was using one hand to hold both the plate and the steering wheel (relatively) steady while using the other to shovel the food into his mouth. To add to the improbability of this ordeal, the entire event took place at 7:15 on a Friday morning! According to the time and his smart style of clothing, the man appears to have been on his morning commute.

Eating a plate of lasagna while driving is weird. Eating any lasagna at 7:15 on a Friday morning is also weird. Eating lasagna at 7:15 on a Friday morning while driving to work is absolutely bizarre. Commuter Matt Clark, an Insulation Engineer, spotted this distracted driving in the UK, captured the footage, and watched the entire plate disappear over an 8 mile stretch of highway heading towards Norwich. Clark said the other driver’s morning meal was clearly a distraction. The diner’s driving speed was highly variable, and his concentration seemed to be entirely on the plate rather than the road in front of him.
