A hospital in Pennsylvania is delighting the web with pictures of newborn babies in pickle costumes.
Every summer, the city of Pittsburgh celebrates their favorite snack with an event called "Picklesburgh." This year, the UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital decided to join the fun by putting pickle costumes on the newborn babies in their maternity ward.
Hand-knitted by one of the nurses, the costumes consisted of green hats and blankets that transformed the babies into pint-sized dill pickles. They were worn over customized onesies that proclaimed "special dill-ivery."

Professional photographs were taken of the babies to commemorate the occasion. It was a full-blown photo shoot, and the final products were posted online for everyone to enjoy. The photo shoot quickly went viral on social media.
"We think these babies are a really big DILL!" said one user.
"Hopefully, they are relishing their time there!" laughed another.
A spokesperson for the hospital has also confirmed that the costumes were a big hit with the babies' mothers. She said that it's actually a tradition for the maternity ward to dress up the babies during special occasions, and it's a fun, festive occasion for everyone involved.
"We have patients hoping they deliver during one of our nursery photo shoots!" she revealed in statement to TODAY.
As for the festival, you can be forgiven if you've never heard of Picklesburgh. It's a fairly new event that's only been around for four years, and it started as a modest project before growing into a gigantic, city-wide celebration reported TODAY.
This year, the babies boosted its visibility among non-Pennsylvanians as well. People from all around the world were shocked to learn that there was an entire festival for the sour snacks.

Attendees at Picklesburgh are able to enjoy things like food, drink, games and live music. They can try all sorts of pickle-related dishes, and they're able to buy silly and punny souvenirs that will commemorate their time at the world's best dill-fest. Picklesburgh has become such a hit that it was named "Best Specialty Food Festival" by the folks at USA Today.
Not everyone enjoys Picklesburgh, however. Some people even take to the streets to protest the event.
One tweet about the controversy said, "Some people were a little sour about #Picklesburgh! Hilarious. #pickleprotest"
