In Poland, a horse named Freedom falls into a maintenance pit and loses her will to survive. Her owner Marek Slodkowski begs her to live.

As a veteran of taking care of horses, Slodkowski has always had equines in his life. For over 13 years he has raised them on his farm, caring for them and taking care of their medical needs as required. He was more than happy to sacrifice time and treasure to these beautiful animals in order to see them healthy and happy.

According to Honest To Paws, A nearby maintenance pit within the farm that was typically used to repair cars and other motorized farming equipment was accidentally left slightly open. Ever the curious horse, Freedom decided to investigate the open door and ended up falling right into the pit!

Once Marek Slodkowski discovered what was going on, he quickly ran off in order to retrieve some hay. The Polish farmer thought that perhaps Freedom using the hay would be able to leverage themselves out of the pit. However, Freedom didn't look like they were making any progress.

Unable to lift the horse up on his own, Slodkowski decided to call the fire department for help. Once the firefighting team arrived, they discussed the best way to free Freedom. At first, eight men attempted to lift the equine up with a trio of straps.

However, even these robust men using all of their strength were unable to free the horse from the hole. Since the horse was absolutely exhausted, it wasn't able to provide any assistance; it was dead weight.

Slodkowski was at a loss for ideas; he never had this happen before. The emotional gravity of the situation began to wear heavily on the farmer, and he was on the verge of tears. The eyes of the horse began to close slowly, and Slodkowski prayed that it wasn't for the last time.

The panic and loss in the poor man's voice were all too apparent to the firefighters. He attempts to comfort both Freedom and his own anxieties by whispering that everything will be okay. Leaning in towards his beloved animal companion, he asks it not to die.

Although it seemed as if Freedom would meet their end within the maintenance pit, hearing the pleading tone of Slodkowski inspires the horse to make one final bid at escape. With a surge of determination and adrenaline,

Freedom mustard all of their strength in order to move their legs. At first, she uses her hind legs to try to test how much room she has in the area to stand. When she discovers just how restricted she is, she elects to stand up using her front legs instead.

The video shows Slodkowski sprinting to the firefighters to let them know that Freedom was making a break for it from the pit, and the team leaps into action to help. The firefighters follow through on their determination to free the beautiful white mare, and each does their best to leverage the horse out of the hole.

Progress is finally had once Freedom's forehooves are out of the pit, and each pair of men helps to hold one of the horse's hooves for stability as it climbs. Once they are able to put a rope near the hind legs and rear end of the equine, the firefighters can really get some leverage! Freedom is finally freed, and gallops off to stretch her legs! Exhausted, the mare slept for hours while the men congratulated one another for a job well done; Marek's mare was finally safe once more!
