Homeless Woman Sings Beautiful Subway Solo With A Voice Like An Angel

A video of a homeless woman singing in the Los Angeles subway has gone viral and left many wanting to know how such a soaring voice was forced to sing underground.  The video was recorded by a Los Angeles police officer who was moved by the woman’s powerful vocals and tweeted out by his police department.

The viral singer is Emily Zamourka, who immigrated to the United States 28 years ago to work as a classical violinist. Her career was derailed when a health setback left her with massive medical bills that she was unable to pay.

In an effort to make ends meet, Emily began playing her violin on the streets for money. However, it is difficult to protect anything of value when you are homeless. Emily learned this the hard way when her violin, which was worth $10,000, was stolen reports CBS.

Even though her violin was taken, Emily thanks God for keeping her safe as she has fought to survive while living on the streets. And it was the loss of her violin that led her to share her amazing voice in the subway, a site she chose in part because of the amazing acoustics. Since the video of her magical voice went viral, there have been several GoFundMe pages started by people wanting to help Emily get back on her feet.

Emily is extremely grateful to the police officer who was inspired to record and share the video that has changed her life. Her story is a wonderful reminder that sometimes perseverance combines with fate to make a seemingly impossible dream come true.

If you know someone who is fighting to make their dreams come true, send them this story as a reminder that hard work is often rewarded in unexpected ways.
