Homeless Dog Loses Eyesight But Has Heart-Breaking Reaction To His First Time At Ocean

Ever since the days that he was a puppy, a dog named Garbanzo had been without a home. He never understood what it meant to have an owner, and he never knew the luxuries of curling up on the couch with a loved one. Until one day, one stranger decided to show him what he deserved.
He never got taken for walks or hikes, he never got to play with other dogs, and he never knew the luxury of having a home where he was loved, appreciated, and wanted.
Even though all dogs deserve good treatment, Garbanzo deserves it simply because he was deprived of it for so long.
Garbanzo is a mixed dog, made up of breeds such as border collies and cattle dogs.

He desperately wanted to find a home for himself to see what it was like, but each time someone came to visit him at the shelter they neglected to take him home due to a condition that he has: Garbanzo was slowly going blind.
However, Garbanzo had his prayers answered one day when an animal lover named Rocky Kanaka heard about his story. He knew that he couldn’t leave the animal to suffer any longer, and he stepped in to help.
However, because Garbanzo has trouble with sight, it can be difficult for him to trust humans and he does not warm up quickly to new people because of his condition.
He often barks and becomes terrified of new people, leading to his stay at the shelter becoming even longer. The beginning stages of adoption never go well for him because of this problem, but Rocky wanted to change all of this for the poor dog.
He decided to throw Rocky a birthday party and take him on a wild adventure for the day where he would take him to do things that he’s never gotten to do before.
Rocky decided to bake Garbanzo a special birthday cake at the shop he owns, called The Dog Bakery, and some of the other animals at the shelter got to come out and enjoy the cake with Garbanzo himself. But because Garbanzo has limited eyesight, he was a little wary about the situation at first but ended up having some celebratory pieces of cake.
After some training in the yard, Garbanzo seemed ready to take on the day with his new friend Rocky! He was taken to the beach, where something extraordinary happened. Once he felt the sand underneath his feet, he began to relax and let loose.
The sound of waves hitting the shore and the smell of the salty water surrounded him seemed to comfort the dog.
It wasn’t long before Garbanzo transformed into the dog he was always meant to be. You can watch Garbanzo’s story in the video below.
