Holly Willoughby Reacts To Phillip Schofield's Announcement And Has Fans Crying

British TV presenter Phillip Schofield, 57, took to his Instagram stories this morning to come out as gay. The This Morning star then made an appearance on his own show alongside his co-host of many years Holly Willoughby. The emotional announcement and Holly's reaction had fans in tears.

Phillip Schofield shared an Instagram story Friday morning, where he admitted his hidden sexual orientation has been “consuming [him] for the last few years.” 

The story revealed that his wife Stephanie, and two daughters Molly and Ruby, are supportive of Schofield and his sexual orientation, “despite their own confusion.”

“My family have held me so close: they have tried to cheer me up, to smother me with kindness and love, despite their own confusion,” he wrote, according to the Sun. “Yet still I can’t sleep and there have been some very dark moments.”

Phillip had the support of his cast-mates around him when he went on This Morning to give his special announcement, but nobody more than his co-presenter Holly Willoughby. Phillip said during the show that he couldn't have done it without Holly's support, and she later says, "Well whatever happens in the future, I'll be sat by your side."

The love between the two friends was palpable on-screen which had viewers emotional. One Twitter user said "phillip and holly's relationship got me SOBBING #ThisMorning," while another said, "The support he was giving from holly was unbelievable!"

The two presenters have been together for many years, celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2019 according to The Daily Mail, as Phillip called Holly as the sister he's never had.
