Holly Willoughby Fans Gush Over Lookalike Mother As She Celebrates 73rd Birthday

On May 25, Holly posted a video of her mother celebrating her 73rd birthday with a slice of cake at a restaurant. The television presenter’s followers immediately began to comment on how beautiful and young her mother, Lynn Willoughby, looks — not to mention the chic dress she’s wearing.

“Happy birthday beautiful mamma 🐻... love you 💗,” Holly’s post reads. The Instagram video, which has since been watched more than 1 million times, features the 73-year-old elder Willoughby blowing out a candle at an upscale restaurant. It didn’t take long for many of the TV presenter’s 7.3 million followers to both congratulate Lynn and admire her stunning good looks.

“Happy birthday Lynn! And I’ll have whatever you’re having, you look incredible 😍😍,” the English journalist and former “X-Factor” host commented.

“(So) that’s where the prettiness comes from ❤️❤️ Happy birthday Holly’s mum ❤️,” another user wrote.

"Can see where you get your looks!" an enthusiastic fan agreed.

Fans made similar comments back in February when Holly celebrated her 40th birthday. To commemorate her big day, Holly posted a photo of herself wearing the exact same dress her mother wore at her 40th birthday party decades ago. The side-by-side photo, featuring both women at 40 wearing the same dress, inspired plenty of fans to comment that this mother-daughter duo looks so similar.

“This photo of my Mum was taken on her 40th birthday at the party she had in the garden,” Holly wrote alongside the popular post, which accumulated more than 1 million likes. “I remember this day so clearly. It’s a strange thing to reach the age you remember your Mum being! ...I asked her if she’d kept the dress and of course she had... Strange moment zipping it up this morning, wondering how she felt on her big day... I can’t be with my Mum or Dad today but wearing this in her honour makes me feel closer to them... love you Mumma! #sothisis40 💕.”

According to Hello! Magazine, Holly made her mother’s birthday extra special with a heartwarming birthday gift. The tear-jerking present? Holly gifted her mother a restored photo of Lynn’s late father, Holly’s grandfather. The television presenter initially shared the photo with her fans on Instagram in July 2020.

"My Grandad Donald joined the Navy at the age of 18,” she wrote alongside the black and white photo. “He was a Chief Petty Officer during WW2. The ship in the photo, the HMS Resolution, was just one of the ships he was on. I think the picture of the ship was taken when she was torpedoed by French submarine Beveziers at the battle of Dakar, off the West Coast of Africa.”

Hello! reports that the restored photo — which was colorized — led to “tears all around.”

Holly seems quite close with her parents, who have been married since 1977. Her father, Brian Willoughby, was a sales manager for a double-glazing company, while her mother worked as a flight attendant. 

"My mum instilled in me that importance of family life and being married to somebody who is a real partner,” Holly said of her mother and father’s relationship. “From watching her with my dad over the years, I knew that was something I really wanted for myself."

Holly tied the knot with her special someone back in 2017 when she married Dan Baldwin, who also works in media as the co-founder of Hungry Bear Media and former producer of “Celebrity Juice.” The couple has two sons and a daughter.
