Hoda Kotb From The ‘Today Show’ Is Engaged To Boyfriend Joel Schiffman

‘Today Show’ co-host Hoda Kotb is officially engaged to her long-time beau Joel Schiffman.

The journalist and host announced her engagement live on the morning talk show much to the surprise of her co-hosts, who were absolutely delighted.

"I have to tell you something that a friend of mine, a friend of ours, asked me to let you guys in on a secret,'' Kotb said. "I'll give you her initials. Her initials are Hoda Kotb, and she's engaged."

She then took her hand from under the desk to reveal her gorgeous new engagement ring to TV cameras. Watch her live announcement below:

She and her co-hosts Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, and Jenna Bush Hager were all smiles as they discussed the engagement. Hoda told everyone that Joel proposed while they were on a beach vacation directly after a wonderful dinner. She mentioned that he said some beautiful things before he got down on one knee and asked: “Will you be my wife?” 

The ‘Today Show’ reports that the couple have two adopted daughters together and have been partners for six years. Although they have essentially settled down, Hoda remarked that the proposal was a total shock. She was also nervous to tell her co-hosts and said that her heart was pounding before she told them the big news.

Hoda later dished more details on the engagement on ‘Today with Hoda and Jenna,’ telling her co-anchor all about the moment. She also said that Joel was carrying around the engagement ring for a while and had almost popped the question while the two of them were bowling one night. She then got on a serious note and really emoted her love for Joel saying he is the ‘best man.’

Congratulations to the happy couple! The engagement comes to the 55-year-old later in life but Hoda observed “I think you don’t know when your blessings will come in your life.” Do you agree? Let us know and tell others about the big news!
