Hilary Duff Discusses Life As Mom Of 3 After Welcoming Baby Mae With Matthew Koma — Says 'I Love This Mayhem'

Hilary Duff is well known for her amazing work as a singer, actress, author and businesswoman. With a career starting on the Disney Channel when she was just a teenager, the talented lady was off to a great start and has since grown and conquered the entertainment industry. Along with establishing a fantastic career for herself, Duff has been able to find love and start a family of her own. Although she has suffered heartbreak over the years, Duff has grown into an incredible woman and mother and recently welcomed her third child into the world. 

She’s been married to Matthew Koma, a singer, songwriter and record producer, since 2019. The pair married in a gorgeous home wedding in Los Angeles, California, after they had already started their small family together with the birth of their first daughter and first child together. Duff also has a son from a previous marriage, to whom Koma has become a supportive and fun step-father.

The proud mom of three has never been shy about showing off her beautiful family, and the birth of her youngest daughter was no different. Duff shared plenty of moments and milestones with her fans thanks to social media as she journeyed her way into yet another endeavor of motherhood. Although she has had her fair share of ups and downs as a parent, Duff has continued to flourish in all aspects of her life and has continued to stay relatable to moms all over the world with her honest and vulnerable social media posts.

Duff has starred in plenty of television shows and movies over the years, ranging from projects with the Walt Disney Company to more adult-driven works. Some of her most notable roles include “Cadet Kelly,” “Lizzie McGuire,” “A Cinderella Story,” and, most recently, the comedy-drama series “Younger,” which wrapped up in 2021. 

She’s also put out a handful of albums over the years, including a greatest hits album, “Best of Hilary Duff,” from 2008. Some of her most popular songs include “Come Clean,” “Play With Fire,” and “Wake Up.” Duff has even partnered with her now-husband to release a cover of the Third Eye Blind song “Never Let You Go” in 2020.

Duff’s third child, named Mae James Blair, was born on March 24, 2021. The singer shared the precious moment with her baby girl in a sweet family photo on Instagram. Duff showed her affection with the adorable yet straightforward caption: “We LOVE you beauty.”

This is the second child for Duff and Koma, as the two welcomed their first child, Banks Violet Blair, back in October 2018. Duff has another child from her previous marriage to professional hockey player Mike Comrie, named Luca Cruz Comrie, who was born in March 2012.

The multi-talented star first revealed the news of her third pregnancy in October 2020 via an Instagram video. “We are growing!!! Mostly me,” she wrote alongside the video that showed Koma gently and happily rubbing her growing belly. Koma later shared the video to his own account, along with a humorous and exciting caption: “Quarantine was fun.” The photo’s location was tagged appropriately, as Koma wrote, “Pregnantville.”

Although Duff and Koma were very open about the pregnancy and shared plenty of moments with their friends, family, and fans, they decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise to the general public. People magazine reported that the couple celebrated with Banks and Luca, leaving the rest of their family in suspense as they waited to find out the baby’s gender.

Duff spoke with People back in December 2020 about how the pregnancy was going for her at the time. “This pregnancy feels easier,” she revealed. The mom had some prior practice thanks to raising her now 9-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter. “I’m more tired because of having a toddler, but have less time to focus on the pregnancy because I’m busy with my kids and work,” Duff explained. “It’s a nice distraction because I’m not Googling everything and obsessing over everything that’s happening with the pregnancy.”

Duff has been over the moon with the newest addition to her family and has posted countless photos of the newborn baby to her Instagram account. She even showed her other daughter relishing in the idea of now being a big sister. “I’m a big sister… marinating on how I feel about that,” Duff wrote in a post showing Banks looking thoughtful while enjoying bath time.

The mom of three has continued to share all her life moments on social media, including the ups and downs of motherhood. Through all the joys and challenges she has faced while raising her little ones, Duff has kept a smile on her face and continued to provide relatable content for fans worldwide.
