Back in September, Alec Baldwin, 62, and his wife Hilaria, 35, announced the exciting news that they were expecting their fifth child together.

This week, however, Hilaria shared tragedy with fans as she revealed she had miscarried, making it her second miscarriage this year.

This Monday saw Hilaria Baldwin break news to her fans via her official Instagram account that she had miscarried four months into her pregnancy. The video showed Hilaria next to her daughter Carmen explaining that she will no longer be expecting a new baby sibling.

“We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months,” Baldwin captioned the video. “We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be.”

The 35-year-old followed up with an update on her condition on Tuesday, saying she is “physically ok.”

“Eyes swollen from crying, groggy from anesthesia, crampy from the surgery...but I made it and I want you to know that I’m physically ok,” she wrote.

It marks the Baldwins second miscarriage this year. This April, Hilaria once again took to Instagram to share news of the loss of their child.

“There was no heartbeat today at my scan...so it’s over...but I have some pretty strong and amazing heartbeats right here,” she wrote. “I am surrounded by such love and I feel so fortunate.”

The 35-year-old explained that although she was devastated by the loss of her child, she chose to share her experience in order to “normalize” miscarriage.

"I have no shame or embarrassment with this experience," Baldwin added in her post. "I want to be a part of the effort to normalize miscarriage and remove the stigma from it. There is so much secrecy during the first trimester."
