Getting a mom to the hospital to deliver her baby has been the theme of many a television sitcom over the decades, but sometimes it's not at all a laughing matter. Such was the case on I-5 in Stockton, CA on Tuesday, April 16th.

California Highway Patrol Officer, Philip Dibene, noticed a car stopped alongside the highway and, luckily for this couple and their baby, stopped to investigate the reason.

Calvin Thompson and girlfriend, Tiffana Lemaster, were headed toward the hospital when Tiffana's labor pains increased to the point where Calvin thought it wise to pull over, realizing they may not make it to the hospital in time to deliver their baby, Ezekiel.

Before delivering the baby, Officer Dibene, a father of four himself, whispered a prayer to God to allow the birth to be a successful one in the baby's favor. Upon delivery, Ezekiel was not breathing, and was displaying very little movement. His skin was blue

When Tiffana heard the dispatcher's voice on the phone say that he wasn't hearing the baby cry, she quickly handed him back to Officer Dibene. The officer's training for situations like this one prompted him to very gently, but firmly, tap on the baby's back while continuing to pray for the baby's survival.

After a few moments, the baby ejected whatever it was that was obstructing his breathing passage. It was then that Ezekiel began moving, flailing his little arms and kicking.

They will all remember this experience as a miracle. Here is what each had to say in that regard: Tiffana said, "I feel like we were pretty blessed for them to show up when they did." "Absolute relief. Felt like a miracle. It felt really good," Dibene said. "Fate, we definitely rely on God," said Ezekiel's father.
