Jefferson Davis High School (JDHS) went up against Dothan in Montgomery's Cramton Bowl. While the game was pretty good, the fans were blown away by the marching band.

Let's set the scene. It was November 1st, Senior night. The JDHS band got into formation, ready to hype up the crowd. Little did the audience know, but the band was prepared.

Justin Heideman took the front of the procession. Justin is a Senior, 17 years old. He is also a drum major - and his skill for marching would soon be put on display. He knows a thing or two about the band. Justin's nickname is "Vanilla Funk" - lovingly given to him by the other members of the band.

The performance began with a few quick shrieks of the whistle - then, the group began moving, Justin front and center. The group's choreography was on point. They moved effortlessly, displaying skill beyond their years.

The JDHS band put on a mind-blowing performance. They made it look so easy! Yet, anyone who's ever worked in such an environment knows they must've spent hours rehearsing. All their effort shines through in an exceptional show.

The onlookers were doubtless pulled into the school spirit. With the sheer talent radiating from the band and dancers, it would be hard not to be!

A video of the performance was uploaded to YouTube and has gone viral. It's gotten over 600,000 views. Viewers seem to agree that Justin Heideman definitely earned his spot as drum major. If this band keeps marching into college, they could accomplish great things.
