When faced with the horrifying real-life scenario, he had no choice except to become a hero. Here’s a look at how he transformed into an internet sensation overnight.

There’s a new viral video going around the web, and it features a uniquely scary event that took place in Istanbul. Initially, the clip captures what appears to be a disaster in the making. It all starts with a two-year-old toddler who somehow escaped from a second-story window, reports Euro News.

The Syrian child, Doha Muhammed, was playing unsupervised when matters took an unexpected turn for the worse. After these harrowing events, the little girl is simply lucky to be alive. If not for an innocent bystander, an unthinkable fate would have been unavoidable.

At the exact same moment, an Algerian teenager just happened to be walking down the street. The boy also looked up at exactly the right second to see a potential tragedy unfolding. Luckily, his unbelievably quick instincts kicked in, and he was able to intervene in an amazingly heroic fashion.

As the baby was plummeting towards the ground, Zabaat positioned himself perfectly to make the catch of a lifetime. With perfect timing, he managed to buffer the impact of her fall completely. This incredibly coincidental happenstance would not even be conceivable if CCTV cameras had not caught everything on tape. Thanks to the amazing footage, we can all witness this inspiring act of bravery personally.

Even for the intensely urban Fatih district, this would have been a disaster of incomparable proportions. This historical region is accustomed to its fair share of turmoil, but this heart-wrenching near-death experience is in a league of its own. Luckily, a terrible occurrence was averted by nothing more than timing and decency.

As proof of Zabaat’s good-natured demeanor, he gently comforted the child by cradling her after the catch. After soothing her, he even posed for the press with her being happily held in his arms. Muhammed can be seen beaming in the grasp of her impromptu savior.

Finally, we are able to see a good deed that does go unpunished. In fact, Zabaat was given a decent payment for his remarkable life-saving efforts. According to multiple sources, the family of Muhammed gifted him 200 Turkish Liras, which is roughly equivalent to $35.

Despite receiving payment for his breathtaking actions, the teen declined to take credit for his intervention; instead, he immediately attributed the miracle to a higher power. Euro News reports Zabaat said, "I caught the child mid-air before she hit the ground. I did what was necessary for the love of Allah."

Zabaat truly proved his impeccable character, and he did so completely unaware that the whole world would be watching. Although most people might like to think they would do the same thing if they were in his shoes, it is truly impossible to know if any of us actually have the capacity to pull off such an amazing feat without even having time to think.
