Hero Saves Life Of Helpless Dog After It's Reportedly Tossed From Car Window By Owners

Imagine your shock if you were driving along and saw a puppy thrown out of a car window near you. What would you do? One good Samaritan did the right thing and rescued a little pup in Florida.

Apparently not wanting to find the seven-month-old puppy a new home or spend money on an ad or on a surrender fee at a shelter, the puppy's original owners decided to act in a very inhumane way.

Timothy Kauffman of Hillsborough County, Florida, told WFLA what had transpired. He was driving his car on Clay Pit Road in June when he saw the horrific act. The people in the car ahead seemed to wait until they were right in front of him and then sped off after throwing the puppy from the passenger door of a car right in front of his own car, apparently hoping that he would hit it. Because it was raining, he had to slam on his brakes and try to control the car's sliding and slipping so that he wouldn't drive over the puppy.

Luckily Kauffman stopped and rescued the frightened animal, who was in surprisingly good shape considering what she had gone through. After taking the pup to his house to give it food and water, he contacted the local 4 Lucky Dogs Pet Rescue, who took her in and later shared her story on Facebook along with photos of the then-happy puppy, who was named Nova as a symbol of new beginnings.

It was discovered that Nova had been microchipped, so they were able to learn her former owner’s sinister intentions. Upon investigation by an animal control officer, it was told that they had a report that the pup was deceased the night before, so, apparently, the owner had anticipated that the dog would die.

Nova is now living with one of the pet rescue's foster families while a search is being conducted for her permanent home. The 4 Lucky Dogs Pet Rescue wants to repay Kauffmann for his kindness, especially since he recently lost his job.

They are hoping that a local business will see this inspiring story and decide that they can use a man like this on their company team. Why don't you pass this story along so that the word gets out?
