May 07, 2019 by apost team
Giving birth is one of the most physically and emotionally intense things a woman can go through. Can you imagine giving birth to six babies in succession? Thelma Chiaka, a woman from Nigeria, doesn't have to imagine.
She recently gave birth to sextuplets, which are extremely rare. The chances of having them are just one in 4.7 billion.
So Thelma was already a super-mom, but she got even more attention because all six birth happened in just nine minutes!

All of the babies arrived healthy but tiny, with weights ranging between one pound 12 ounces and two pounds 14 ounces. Fertility medications and treatments often have contributing to women having children in multiples.
Despite their rarity, these births do happen; women have given birth to as many as eight at a time. Thelma certainly has her hands full with these six, but hopefully all the attention she has received will allow her to get some financial assistance as well.

Thelma has named her girls Zina and Zuriel, while she has not yet decided on names for the boys. The birth took place in Houston at the Woman's Hospital of Texas, and the congratulations have flooded in.
With so much work ahead of her, it's a relief that her labor process was so quick and that she can now take a little time to rest while the babies are in the hospital growing stronger.
