There are many stray cats in the United States and around the world. Pet shelters and rescue groups do what they can in order to help these beautiful and curious creatures. When a person adopts a cat from a shelter, the cat seems to know that the person is their hero. Boko is a cat rescued by a Texas woman, Gabby Tropea.

Gabby Tropea adopted Boko after seeing him in a local animal shelter. The two developed a close bond, enjoying plenty of snuggle time. Boko has adapted to life in Gabby's home as if he has lived there his whole life.

One day, Gabby went out of the front door in order to walk her younger sister to school. Gabby did not realize that her sister had set the door to lock behind them.

Gabby had forgotten her house key. Boko heard Gabby trying to get in. Gabby figured that Boko thought he would be stuck alone in the house forever if Gabby could not get back inside.

After no success trying to get in through the front door of her home, Gabby went around to the back door. The back door is a sliding glass patio door. They keep a stick in it for extra security.

On this day, Boko went around to the back door after hearing Gabby knock on the glass. Gabby encouraged Boko to use his face and paw to lift up the stick. Once Boko freed the stick, Gabby was able to get back inside of the house.

Gabby recorded the whole thing on her smartphone. She shared her video on her social media, and it got picked up and spread around to her friends and their friends. Boko was proud of himself, too. He got some of his favorite treats.

Gabby sat down to pet and snuggle him for a job well done. Boko and Gabby have come full circle.

She said, "He was so proud of himself when I got in."

Have you ever adopted a pet from a shelter? How did it return the favor? Some people think cats are indifferent, but it is clear that Boko has a strong bond with Gabby. Let us know your thoughts about this nice story and pass it on to tohers as well.
