Normally you will do this on instinct. Coughing is the number one action you should take when there is a fish bone lodged in your throat. As you cough, air is blown through the throat which will help push the fish bone up and out to dislodge it. This can be accomplished within a few minutes of hard coughing.

Drink A Little Olive Oil

If by chance the coughing does not result in the removal of the fish bone, sipping on some olive oil can also help. As you drink the olive oil, the bone will become lubricated enough to slide down your throat to enter your stomach.

Try A Salt Water Drink

Bring the temperature of some water to that of a lukewarm temperature and throw in a pinch of salt. Drinking the salt water will help displace the fish bone so that you can swallow it down your throat.

A Large Marshmallow Can Help

Marshmallows are sticky and can be swallowed with ease. When you chew on a large marshmallow until it is small enough to swallow whole, its stickiness will grab unto the fish bone and pull it down your throat as you swallow.

Try Swallowing A Piece Of Banana Whole

When you take a bite out of your banana, hold it in your mouth until it reaches a soggy consistency. When you feel that it has become soft enough to swallow whole, swallow it. This process is similar to the swallowing of a marshmallow and will have the same effect on the fish bone as you swallow.

Have A Piece Of Bread With Warm Water
