Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were wed on May 19, 2018, and with this new happy marriage comes a long list of peculiar rules she must follow! Many of these have been family traditions for centuries, and some of them are more recent ones decided by the queen, such as women not being allowed to wear wedges simply because Elizabeth doesn’t like them!

Though Harry and Meghan were able to bend a few rules already with their beautiful ceremony, the new Duchess of Sussex has a few new guidelines for her everyday life to look forward to.

Meghan has to adhere to the royal dressing standards by always looking prim and proper. Not only does she have to ditch her wedges, but she has to take care that her dresses hit below the knee, that she never shows cleavage, and that she always wear stockings.

She has already broken a few of these rules already in the past, but will now be under strict scrutiny by her new royal family.
 

Royals are not allowed to have their own social media accounts, and Meghan has already deleted her channels as well as her lifestyle blog. They are also not allowed to give autographs to the public, only at special occasions. You read that right, Meghan is now no longer allowed to play the classic board game Monopoly. This rule has been in place since 2008 since the royal family was unable to play the game without becoming “vicious,” according to Prince Andrew Duke of York.
 

The royal family must walk in order of who is next in line to take the throne. The lineup currently is: Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Duchess Catherine, Prince George, the eldest child of the Duke of Cambridge, followed by his sister, Princess Charlotte and younger brother, Prince Louis, then Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.

This rule came about when Queen Elizabeth’s father passed away while she was on a trip in Kenya and had to have a black outfit delivered to her before she stepped off the plane. Though it’s a sad rule to follow, it’s necessary so that Meghan can always be prepared to be dressed appropriately if there’s a death in the family.
 

Though Meghan is known for her role as Rachel Zane on the popular American drama series “Suits,” she must now abandon her life as an actress and her involvement with United Nations. She will be kept busy with royal engagements and her new duchess duties.
 

Actually, she can’t show any kind of public display of affection at all! Have you ever noticed that William and Kate don’t hold hands when out in public? This is likely because of the Queen, who also rarely makes public physical contact with Philip. The post-wedding kiss is all you get, because Meghan and Harry will now have to have their touchy-feely time behind closed doors.
