Henry Winkler is giving fans a heartfelt look back at one of television’s most beloved eras. On Feb. 14, 2026, the actor shared a throwback photo on Instagram featuring a star-studded lineup from the "Happy Days" universe.
Winkler has long credited "Happy Days" with changing his life in ways he never expected. The sitcom aired from 1974 to 1984, becoming one of the most successful American television shows of its time and turning Winkler into a pop culture phenomenon.
“It changed my life,” Winkler said during an appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" on Jan. 12, reflecting on his sudden rise to fame. He recalled arriving at an airport in the middle of the night and noticing what looked like a party happening nearby. Unsure what was going on, he asked a flight attendant if there was another way around the crowd.
“She said, ‘I think that’s for you,’ ” he remembered. “There were — oh, my gosh, 3,000 people in poodle skirts and 1950s clothing, at like four in the morning, to say hello.” Despite the show’s growing popularity, Winkler admitted he didn’t immediately understand how big it had become. “All of a sudden, you don't know if anybody is watching,” he explained.
He also recalled a major appearance in Dallas, Texas, where he said 25,000 fans turned up to see him and his castmates. Beyond the fame, the actor has often emphasized the lasting relationships that came from the series. His bond with Ron Howard remains particularly strong.
“We are connected,” Winkler said on "Live with Kelly and Mark" in October 2024. “You dream for a chemistry with your fellow actor, and either it’s there or it’s not.” Howard echoed that sentiment in an interview with PEOPLE in August 2025, calling Winkler “kind of like a big brother.”

In the picture, Winkler is seen posing with "Happy Days" creator Garry Marshall, as well as fellow TV icons Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Penny Marshall, Robin Williams and Pam Dawber. Winkler summed up the nostalgic moment with gratitude, writing in the caption of his post:
“How lucky am I to be part of this team??? VERY.”
The photo quickly sparked excitement among fans, not only because of the beloved cast members but also because it highlights a time when several legendary sitcoms were interconnected. Garry Marshall’s creative legacy stretched far beyond "Happy Days," as he went on to develop some of the most recognizable television series of the late 20th century.
Marshall was also the mastermind behind hit spin-offs such as "Laverne & Shirley," starring Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall, and "Mork & Mindy," which helped launch Robin Williams as a household name alongside Pam Dawber.
Many of those characters first appeared in episodes of "Happy Days" before earning their own shows, making the series a launching pad for an entire generation of comedy television.
For Winkler, the photo is more than just a behind-the-scenes memory. It represents a career-defining chapter that introduced the world to his unforgettable character, Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli, and created friendships that have lasted decades.
Yes, the throwback photo may be decades old, but it serves as a powerful reminder of how much television history was created in one unforgettable place. It's worth noting that the enduring popularity of these shows continues to resonate with audiences who grew up watching them during television’s classic sitcom era.
