Heather Locklear's New Romance With Lorenzo Lamas Already Has a Storybook Detail Nobody Saw Coming

Two of the most recognizable faces from 1980s and 1990s television are making headlines again — and this time, it has nothing to do with their acting careers. Heather Locklear and Lorenzo Lamas are officially an item, and by all accounts, things are moving along nicely.

The "Melrose Place" actress, born Sept. 25, 1961, and the "Falcon Crest" star, born Jan. 20, 1958, had been secretly dating for several months before going public in April 2026. Their romance first caught the public's attention when TMZ published photos of the pair ringing in the New Year together at Barry's Steakhouse inside the Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas — looking very much like two people enjoying each other's company. A representative for Lamas subsequently confirmed the relationship to E! News, making it official.

For Locklear, the new romance comes after her split from fiancé Chris Heisser in May 2025. The two had been engaged since April 2020 after reconnecting as high school sweethearts. A close friend told PEOPLE that Locklear was "in a great place" following the breakup, while multiple sources told Us Weekly she was "ready to date again." Notably, an insider also shared that Locklear and Heisser "are still friends and support each other's sobriety." Locklear has been open about her journey with sobriety over the years. "She's focusing on herself. She is sober and doing really well," the source added.

Before Heisser, Locklear was married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993, and to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora from 1994 to 2007. She shares daughter Ava Sambora with Richie.

Lamas brings his own extensive relationship history to the romance. He has been married six times, most recently to Kenna Scott, from whom he filed for divorce in July 2025 after less than two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, according to TMZ. He has six children: son A.J. and daughter Shayne with the late publicist Michele Smith; daughters Victoria, Isabella and Alexandra with model Shauna Sand; and daughter Paton with actress Daphne Ashbrook. Several of his children have followed him into the entertainment industry, with Shayne, Paton and Victoria all carving out their own careers in film and television.

The relationship moved quickly from private to very much a family affair. Over the weekend, Lamas brought his children and grandchildren to Locklear's mansion in a gated community in Thousand Oaks, California, for a first introduction to his new girlfriend. The group headed out together for lunch and a movie — a low-key outing that nonetheless marked a significant step forward.

Then came the detail that caught everyone's attention. TMZ reported that Lamas' daughter Shayne had posted a throwback photo on social media of an old modeling campaign featuring both Locklear and Lamas — and that the very same photo is already hanging on a wall inside Locklear's home. It is the kind of coincidence that is hard to script. Two people with decades of history, separate paths, and complicated chapters behind them, and a photograph connecting them that was there all along. Sources told TMZ the family weekend was easy: "Everyone had a blast."
