Heartwrenching Video Shows Owner Dumping Dog On Street As It Desperately Tries To Jump Back Into The Car

Feb 18, 2019 by apost team

Dog dumping is a horrible phenomenon, where the owner abandons their dog somewhere random.

According to the Express, this is most likely to happen in the first month after getting a new dog - when an owner realizes they never wanted the dog after all.

Pet Ownership Ethics

A common occurrence involves an owner driving several miles away from home and leaving their dog at the side of the road. Many dogs get hit by cars. Some become feral and only a few are saved. Pet ownership is supposed to be for life.

An Owner Dumps Their Dog

In an all-too-common scene, an owner dumped a Staffordshire bull terrier at the side of the road. The incident was captured by CCTV. The owner even threw the dog's bed on the ground. After releasing the leash from the lead, the owner tried to hurry back to the car without the dog noticing. The dog noticed and tried to run after its owner.

What the Dog Tries to Do

The dog catches up to the car. It stands on its back legs, front paws on the window. It is tapping the windows. The dog wags its tail but is clearly anxious and in distress. It runs to the dog bed, then back to the car. This dog has no idea of why its owner abandoned it. The owner drives off, with the dog running. The dog actually catches up to the car and puts its paws on the windows once more. The driver speeds up and leaves.

What Passersby Saw

The dog wanders aimlessly, sniffing the bed and looking around. About an hour later, a passerby saw the dog laying in its bed. The dog was scared and cold. This person took the dog to a vet, who scanned the dog for a microchip. The chip had data on two past owners, but authorities did not think that either person was the dog's current owner.

The Dog Gets Help

The dog is now at a rescue kennel waiting for its forever home. The UK's animal abandonment laws make the abandonment of a dog a punishable crime. The authorities are seeking information about who did this to the dog.
