The bond between a mother and baby spans from humans to animals. There is no denying the unmistakable relationship that a mother has with her offspring, even if they have been separated right after birth.

This sweet video perfectly exemplifies this special bond between mommy and baby. A gorilla by the name of Imani from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park experienced complications when giving birth to a new baby girl. Because of the complications, the baby had to be removed from the mother for treatment.

After the emergency C-section was performed, it became apparent that the infant suffered from a collapsed lung and later was also diagnosed with pneumonia.

The baby was then removed from its mother for 12 days in order to be properly cared for in the special care unit.

Zookeepers and doctors were not sure how the mother would react when the baby came back. Nearly two weeks of separation was certainly hard on the mother who did not understand what had happened to her baby girl. It turned out that all of the worrying was for nothing. On the first day of the reunion, the zookeepers let the mother see the baby without touching her.

On the second day, the baby was placed on a bed of hay near where Imani sleeps.

Inami approached the tiny baby and sniffed her out. The mother then picked up her baby and immediately started to nurse her.

It was clear that she knew exactly who that baby was. It did not take long for the baby to be accepted by all of the gorillas.

This precious video should be spread to anyone who loves animals or who understands that special motherly bond. After you have watched the sweet reunion, be sure to spread the joy to all of your friends and family.
