Heartbroken Dog Won't Stop Hugging Pillow Of Friend Who Passed Away

Who says dogs are always man's best friend? Sometimes, a dog is a dog's best friend. For Spencer the Dog, his best friend is definitely a dog.
Beth Fisher had two dogs, Spencer and Rocky, who were the best of friends for ten long years. That's a very long time if you're a dog. These life-long pals did everything together. They walked together, ate together, and slept together. They wouldn't be seen apart.
Fisher, their owner, told The Dodo that they "slept in the same bed" and "ate from the same bowl." She also said that they would walk together when the family went out.

Beautiful things don't last forever. During a visit to the vet, the family was hit by horrible news. Before that visit, Rocky had been feeling off for some time. They were shocked when they finally found out why he'd been so sick. Rocky's illness had one of the most sinister causes. Rocky had a massive, cancerous tumor.
It was too late to save Rocky. There was no way to treat the advanced tumor, and there was no possibility of a cure. The best thing they could do for Rocky was to put him down, ending his considerable pain. He was put down the same day he went to the vet.
The family mourned for Spencer. Spencer was confused and didn't understand what had happened to Rocky. Spencer scoured the house looking for his brother. The family, understandably, had a hard time watching this.
Fisher told The Dodo that Spencer would wander around the house looking for Rocky, and would cry when couldn't find him. While the family can take comfort from having Rocky's ashes near, Spencer can't understand that Rocky is still close. The family wanted to find a way to comfort Spencer.
They needed something that he could understand. Fisher's father had an idea.
Her father customed ordered a pillow for Spencer. The pillow features a nice, large image of Rocky's smiling face. Spencer immediately took to the pillow. He sleeps with it every night and cuddles with it often. The Fishers say that the pillow has comforted and calmed Spencer, but he does still mourn his friend.
The family will shower Spencer with love as they help him continue to live without Rocky.
