KOCO 5 News reported how It was a 95-degree summer day in Oklahoma City and Randy Jones was traveling in his car, just as he did every other day. He was on his way to a relatively important destination and wasn’t paying attention to much more than driving when he pulled up to an intersection he had crossed thousands of times. He immediately realized something odd. He saw that there was a stop sign at the intersection, just as there had always been. However, there was something just a little bit different about the stop sign on that particular day.

Randy noticed that there was a teenage boy holding onto the stop sign. The boy wasn’t waving to drivers or holding any other signage. He was simply standing there, holding onto the stop sign during the roasting midday heat. Randy couldn’t help but let his curiosity win. He pulled over to the side of the road to ask the teenager why exactly he was standing out in the heat to hold a stop sign.

In his head, Randy was wondering what in the world the teenager was doing. After he pulled over, Randy asked the boy what the point was of holding a stop sign while clearly sweating in the hot weather. The boy, Logan, told Randy that earlier that day he saw that the stop sign had been knocked down. Soon after, Logan happened to see two cars nearly wreck because there was no stop sign at the intersection. Logan was standing out there to do his duty to keep an accident from happening.

Logan told Randy that he had left work during his lunch break to attempt to remount the sign into the ground. While he wasn’t able to fully get the sign as stable at it was before being knocked down, Logan figured he could at least stand next to the sign to hold it up during his lunch hour. Logan truly cares about the people who live in his town and anyone who drives through. He didn’t want something as simple as a fallen sign to lead to an accident.

Randy was incredibly impressed with this young man. Randy immediately called the City of Oklahoma City to let them know about the fallen sign and the young man standing in the heat to make sure it stayed up. The City sent a crew out right away to get the sign securely back up. Randy posted a picture of Logan with his story on Facebook, and the post immediately went viral. People across the country were so impressed by Logan’s dedication to making sure no one was hurt.

How impressive is it that this young man would leave his air-conditioned job to hold this sign up in 95-degree weather? Let us know what you think about Logan’s mission to prevent an accident and don't forget to spread the word about Logan's heroic act to your friends and family!
