When it comes to being a celebrity, there are plenty of positives and negatives. For most celebrities, they have the chance to live out their wildest dreams and pursue their passions in a full time career. Unfortunately, that can sometimes come with a price of a lack of privacy, and their personal lives become front page news.

For Hayden Panettiere, she is no stranger to overcoming hardships in both her personal and professional lives. She is an actress, model and singer best known for her leading roles as Claire Bennet on the superhero series “Heroes” from 2006 to 2010 and as Juliette Barnes in the musical drama series “Nashville” from 2012 to 2018.

Panettiere was born on Aug. 21, 1989, in New York, to a captain in the Fire Department of New York City and a former soap opera actress. Once she was older, she began being homeschooled to accommodate her new schedule as an up and coming actress. By that point, though, Panettiere had already started acting and had several movie and television credits, including “One Life to Live” and “Remember the Titans.”

It’s clear her talent only escalated as she grew older, as Panettiere landed a plethora of roles in a variety of genres, from her time in “Ice Princess” to “Scream 4.” However, the actress went through some hardships in her personal life regarding her life as a mother and within her relationship to her partner. With so many major life events taking place, it was understandable that Panettiere needed to take a bit of a hiatus. Read on to find out more about her life today.

As an actress, Panettiere has shown a lot of promise over the years starring in several films and television shows along the way. On top of that, she doesn’t necessarily fit into just one category, as she has appeared in everything from comedies to thrillers to dramas. Some of her most recognized work includes “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy,” “Heroes” and “Nashville.”

While leading a Hollywood lifestyle might seem incredibly glamorous, the actress has been through plenty of hardships during her time in the spotlight. In her romantic life, Panettiere dated her “Heroes” co-star Milo Ventimiglia from December 2007 to February 2009. That same year, she met then-world heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko and the two soon began dating.

They announced their breakup a couple of years later, but later reconnected in 2013 and became engaged that same year. In December 2014, Panettiere and Klitschko welcomed their daughter Kaya.

Back in 2015, Panettiere revealed that she struggled with postpartum depression, something that she had also portrayed as her character Juliette on “Nashville.” According to TODAY, the actress said, “It’s something a lot of women experience.”

She added, “But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.” She later voluntarily checked in a treatment facility for help with her mental health. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only time Panettiere had to work to heal from something very tough and complicated.

Panettiere and Klitschko ended their relationship in 2018, which was also the same year that Panettiere’s time on “Nashville” came to an end. As of April 2022, this is her last acting credit and appears to be on a hiatus from the profession.

The actress went on to begin a relationship with a man named Brian Hickerson in 2018, but they broke up in 2020 following the latter’s arrest for being charged with assault. Panettiere posted on Instagram:

“I am coming forward with the truth about what happened to me with the hope that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve. I am prepared to do my part to make sure this man never hurts anyone again. I’m grateful for my support system, which helped me find the courage to regain my voice and my life.”

However, the two later reconciled, and have since had an on-again, off-again relationship. According to People, Hickerson went through an “intensive therapy treatment” after spending 45 days in jail. “Hayden won’t forget what he did but she wants to forgive and move on,” a source said. “Hayden is sober and doing very well.”

In March 2022, they were involved in a physical altercation with other individuals outside of a bar in Los Angeles, California. A source told People that Panettiere was “OK.”

It’s evident that Panettiere has encountered a lot throughout her lifetime, including plenty of professional highs and sadly many personal lows. While she doesn’t appear to have any projects in the works, she is still very active on social media and is raising awareness about social issues.
