Harry Pranked Fun-Loving Queen Elizabeth II With A Hilarious Voicemail Message

Sep 21, 2022 by apost team

Queen Elizabeth II was the reigning monarch of England. During her time, nothing seemed to be stopping her from carrying out all of her royal duties, no matter what circumstance was thrown her way. The royal family encountered a difficult year in 2021 following Prince Philip’s passing, but the queen continued to go above and beyond to carry out all of her responsibilities and see over all of the members of the royal family.

She went through her unfortunate share of hardships during 2021, as her long-time beloved passed, along with the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their official publicized departure from the family. With the couple's departure, Harry and Meghan's duties as active members of the royal family were forced to be redistributed to other members, with the queen having made all the big decisions and having the final say.

It's safe to say that the queen had to deal with several overwhelming emotions before really focusing on taking care of herself and her physical health. Back in October 2021, the queen was spotted using a walking stick for some extra support while out and about at Westminster Abbey. Sadly, Her Majesty encountered more health troubles in 2022. And on Sept. 8, 2022, Britain's longest-reigning monarch passed away.

It was a devastating day for the royal family as many members gathered to be by her side in her final moments. Despite stepping down from his royal duties, Harry went to go be with his family during this incredibly difficult time. Later, he shared some kind words about his late grandmother and the fond memories they shared.

After Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Sept. 8, 2022, Prince Harry, alongside his brother, Prince William, shared his proud and final thoughts on his late grandmother.

According to The Sun, Harry said, “In celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen – and in mourning her loss – we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in her commitment to service and duty.” Her grandson went on to say how loved she was all across the world. “She was globally admired and respected. Her unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy.”

“I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over. And as it comes to first meetings, we now honour my father in his new role as King Charles III.”

Harry ended his speech and said, “Thank you for your commitment to service. Thank you for your sound advice. Thank you for your infectious smile. We, too, smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”

Prince Harry and his late grandmother had a close relationship in the past despite him and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepping away from their royal duties. Following his grandmother's passing, a sweet and humorous story was released to the public on just how playful the grandmother and grandson's relationship truly was. When Queen Elizabeth II got a cellphone, she asked Prince Harry to help her with a voicemail. What Prince Harry did, no one expected.

According to The Sun, Prince Harry spoke on his grandmother's voicemail and said, “Hey, wassup? This is Liz.” The jokester went on to say, "Sorry I’m away from the throne. Press one for Philip, two for Charles and three for the corgis!”

According to Express, the queen’s private secretary, Robin Janvrin, was shocked when he first heard the royal’s recording. However, the queen found the voicemail recording hilarious.

According to TIME, Harry flew to Scotland to be with his grandmother, leaving his wife, Meghan, alone and behind in London. PEOPLE reported that he flew alongside his uncles Prince Andrew and Prince Edward

Harry and Meghan had already been in the United Kingdom for a European trip where they would be attending charity events "close to their hearts," according to TIME. It was a surprise that it occurred during the same time that the queen passed.

Even though Meghan only knew the queen for a few years, she shared that they had a special bond. Speaking with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, she shared, "The queen has always been wonderful to me. I've loved being in her company." She added, "She's always been warm, welcoming, and inviting."

Harry and Meghan were able to spend quality time with the queen while attending her Jubilee in June 2022. The queen even got to meet their daughter, Lillibet, for the first time as well. While visiting the queen, a royal source told Us Weekly that “Harry and Meghan had a wonderful time seeing the queen again. It was one of the biggest highlights of their year so far." The source also shared that the queen also thought her great-grandchildren were nothing short of adorable. "She thinks they’re adorable and gave Lili and Archie gifts," the source said.
