The world of Harry Potter is becoming even more real as Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter adds Gringotts to the exhibit. In the Harry Potter franchise, Gringotts is the wizarding bank.

Run by goblins and featuring an array of magical security devices, Gringotts was featured heavily in the Harry Potter series. In the first film in the series, 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry visits Gringotts with the half-giant Hagrid.

Encountering goblins for the first time, Harry takes a magical transport to his family’s vault in the cavernous bank, discovering that he is a very rich wizard.

Gringotts next appeared in 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Seeking to end Lord Voldemort’s reign of terror, Harry, Ron, and Hermione head to the Lestrange family vault. Once there, they steal one of the dark lord’s Horcruxes in the form of Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup.

As the trio struggle to escape, they find a lonely Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon chained in the bank’s darkest interior. Freeing the dragon, Harry and his friends ride it to safety.

Warner Bros. plans to make Gringotts as accurate as possible from the film’s template. In an official press release from the studio, Warner Bros. says that Gringotts will have some of the over 210,000 coins made for the films on display.

Entering the lobby of Gringotts, guests will be awed by the location’s towering columns and four magnificent chandeliers.

The location will also have some of the goblin costumes and prosthetics available so guests can see how much effort went in to making the all too human actors look like creatures out of J.K. Rowling’s timeless story. Among the costumes on display will be those belonging to the goblin chiefs Bogrod and Griphook.

Leaving the lobby, guests will descend into the bank’s labyrinthine halls to visit the Lestrange family vault. The Lestrange family vault will allow visitors the opportunity to have their photo taken in front of hordes of treasure.

The Gringotts expansion is set to open on April 6, 2019. At 16,500 feet, Gringotts will be the biggest expansion yet for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. What do you think about it? Are you excited? Tell us in the comments and pass this on to your friends who love Harry Potter movies as well.
