Harrison Ford Soaks Up Sunshine With Wife Calista Flockhart In Croatia

Harrison Ford is one of the most established and recognized actors in the entertainment industry. With starring roles in two major film series, as well as a long list of other work in films and television shows, Ford has gone on to be one of the most acclaimed and successful actors in his field. His most notable roles are as Han Solo in the “Star Wars” franchise and as Indiana Jones in the “Indiana Jones” franchise. 

During his extremely long and fulfilling career, Ford has also been successful in finding love and has been married to his current wife, Calista Flockhart, since 2010. Flockhart is most known for her acting roles in various television shows, including “Ally McBeal” and “Supergirl,” as well as a number of accomplished films.

The pair first met at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards and began dating shortly after. On Valentine’s Day weekend in 2009, Ford popped the question, ultimately leading to the couple’s wedding on June 15, 2010, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The beautiful couple now owns a few residences across the United States, including a home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, and a ranch in Jackson, Wyoming.

On Aug. 8, 2021, Ford and Flockhart were spotted together in Dubrovnik, Croatia spending some quality time together with one of Ford’s four sons, as Ford was forced to take some time away from filming his upcoming movie in the “Indiana Jones” franchise after an injury. During the trajectory of his career, Ford has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, as he has taken on many roles that require a great deal of energy, strength and fearlessness. As the actor approaches the age of 80, he has continued to show that he is capable of most tasks, but sometimes may push himself too hard, as he recently sustained an injury while on set for the upcoming film “Indiana Jones 5.”

While filming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in 2014, Ford suffered an injury on set after a hydraulic door fell on him. He was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England, where he was treated for a broken leg, as per the Guardian. Ford explained that the door hit his left hip and then flung his left leg up, dislocating his ankle in the process. Thankfully, he was able to return to filming just two months after the incident.

This is not the first time that Ford has injured himself on set from doing his own stunts. After suffering an injury on the set of “Indiana Jones 5,” Ford has been forced to take a break from filming while he recovers. According to Canada Express News, he is set to be in recovery for the next three months as he recovers from a shoulder injury that occured while on set. Ford has taken the time away from work as an opportunity to spend some quality time with his family, and flew to Croatia with his wife and one of his sons.

While “Indiana Jones 5” was originally set to be released in 2022, that decision came prior to Ford’s injury and the setback in filming, as per Canada Express News. The official title of the upcoming film has not yet been released. Filming had previously been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, thus Ford’s injury creating yet another setback in the movie’s filming and release dates. 

Another difference in the upcoming “Indiana Jones” movie is a change in directors. While Steven Spielberg has been the leading director for the other movies in the franchise, James Mangold has taken over his usual spot, with Spielberg now in the executive producer’s chair. An insider said that this is Ford’s last time acting as the title character, which led everyone to believe that this was the right track, as per Canada Express News. 

“After the initial delays, everyone was eager to leave,” the insider explained. “But now Harrison is injured and it’s worse than expected.” Speilberg has called himself an “idiot” for allowing Ford to do his own stunts, including one where he had to overtake a 300-pound prop, according to Canada Express News. Luckily, Ford seems to be doing well with his recovery as he has been enjoying the sunshine in Croatia.

The husband and wife team looked incredibly sweet together as Ford wore khaki pants and a gray T-shirt while Flockhart looked stunning in a red and white summery dress. “Everyone was worried about Harrison and they are happy that he is on the mend,” the insider said. The insider also explained that production is believed to restart in September 2021 at the earliest.
