Jon Bon Jovi was born 58 years ago today in his home state of New Jersey. The legendary singer of Bon Jovi has had an impressive career and continues to live life to the fullest. Let's celebrate with a look back at all of it.

The band Bon Jovi is famously proud of their New Jersey roots, a place where Jon knew he would be a star starting off at an early age. He founded the rock group in the 80s and based the name off of his, originally spelled "Bongiovi," according to Biography.com. They went on to have a string of hits that helped them fill stadiums and secure a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The "Livin' on a Prayer" band was just the beginning of Jon's skyrocketing career, and he went on to a successful solo and acting career too.

He dazzled movie audiences with his roles in "Moonlight and Valentino" and "Pay it Forward," and really showed off his acting chops in the TV show "Ally McBeal."

Even with all of his talent and success, the multi-hyphenate also finds time to work with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which he started in 2006. Their noble mission is "to break the cycle of hunger, poverty and homelessness through developing partnerships, creating programs and providing grant funding to support innovative community benefit organizations," according to their website.

He is also a family man, keeping his relationships strong even through being in one of the most famous rock bands in the world in the 80s. Since 1989, Jon Bon Jovi has been married to Dorothea Hurley, a karate instructor. The couple has four children together: Stephanie, Jesse, Jacob and Romeo Jon.
