From 'Heathers' to 'Charmed' to 'Beverly Hills, 90210,' Shannen Doherty has impressed viewers with her acting skills and engaging characters. Today, April 12th, Shannen Doherty turns 49, and what better way to celebrate her birthday than to remember all of the wonderful TV and movies she's brought to life on screen.

One of Shannen Doherty's most memorable early roles is her role as one of the Heathers, Heather Duke to be exact, in the movie with the same name from 1988. According to Entertainment Weekly, there had been discussion about Doherty revisiting her Heathers role for a remake of the film as a continuing TV series, but so far the new TV series has not appeared.

One of Doherty's most beloved roles had to be playing Brenda Walsh on the hit series 'Beverly Hills 90210." The cast even did a high school reunion show in May of 2003 where Doherty returned to her famous role as Brenda and scenes took place in the Walsh family living room.

Shannen Doherty has also been known for her roles in 'Little House on the Prairie,' 'Our House,' and 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun.'

Another role Doherty played was Prue Haliwell on the TV series Charmed. The show featured three witch sisters in which Doherty played the fierce oldest sister until the character's death. However, Doherty has proven that she is just as strong off-screen as she is when acting.

In an appearance on Good Morning America, Doherty revealed she has been battling stage 4 cancer for the past year. The announcement comes just three years after doctors declared her cancer-free.

Doherty was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission two years later.
