Halle Berry is one of the most accomplished actresses in Hollywood. Beginning in the industry as a model and beauty queen in the Miss USA pageant, Berry has paved the way for many black actresses to prosper in film and television.
She rose to prominence after starring roles in “Father Hood,” “Boomerang,” “The Last Boy Scout,” “The Rich Man's Wife” and “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” during the 1990s. It was later in the 2000s that Berry was cast as Ororo Munroe or Storm in the Marvel film, “X-Men.”
In 2001, Berry won the prestigious Academy Award for Best Actress for her outstanding portrayal of a struggling widow in the drama film “Monster’s Ball.” She made strides in the film and entertainment industry by becoming the first and, so far, only black woman who has won the award.
But before winning an Oscar, Berry also received a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for the television film “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” in 1999. Her recognition has made Berry one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.
However, despite her illustrious and history-setting career in film – Berry has had quite the challenge in the romance department.
In 1993, she married renowned American baseball player David Justice, only to have divorced him four years later, with Berry citing she had depression and even considered taking her own life. She then eventually married singer-songwriter, Eric Benét, following a two-year-courtship; they lasted until 2005 after almost four years of marriage. After her divorce from Benét, she began dating Canadian model Gabriel Aubry whom she had her first child with.
Berry went through a lot in looking for her companion in life, but it seems like she finally found her true joy — her children.

Born on Aug. 14, 1966, Berry was a Cleveland, Ohio native. Eventually, she grew up in Oakwood, Ohio, where she graduated from Bedford High School. She studied at Cuyahoga Community College but began trailblazing beauty contests in the 1980s.
Berry made heads turn when she became the Miss USA First-Runner Up in 1986 — even expressing her ideals of becoming an entertainer or just penetrating the world of media. She also became the first African-American candidate for Miss World in 1986 but placed sixth on the bill as Trinidad and Tobago beauty queen Giselle Laronde won the crown.
Despite her very colorful life, it took Berry two controversial marriages before she met the father of her first child, Canadian model, Aubry. He has modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica and Calvin Klein, among many others. Interestingly, Berry met Aubry in a Versace campaign shoot in Los Angeles in November 2005.
It was at 41 years old, an age many would consider a little too old for someone to have a baby when she got pregnant with her and Aubry’s child.
According to People Magazine, Berry described the pregnancy to be “fantastic” at the time, as she kept on eating right and keeping fit through swimming, yoga, lifting light weights and even using an elliptical machine.
“Right now I just have so much joy and energy. I can just go and go and go.”
Even before her pregnancy, Berry had been very delighted with the idea of having her own children.
“I want my kids to realize it's only through hard work that any success or real joy comes. It's not about money; it's the intangible rewards — having integrity and doing what you say you're going to do,” she told People in another interview.

Being a mother while bagging major roles in Hollywood has become the norm for quite a while already. Supermoms like Berry have defied the odds and common norms for women in the industry. Surely, being an excellent artist is not a hindrance to becoming a great mother too.
According to Hollywood Life, Berry has been vocal about her journey as a pregnant woman while in Hollywood.
“I felt sexy every single day of every single one of my two pregnancies. I was walking around naked, I was like, ‘Bam! Look at this. Oh, look at this,” she said in an episode of her IG Show “Bad & Booshy” in 2021.
Now, the Award-winning actress is a mother to two adorable kids.
Berry's firstborn, Nahla Ariela Aubry, 14, is almost at her height already and bears an equally striking resemblance to her and Nahla's Canadian father. Despite a heated custody battle, Nahla has grown up to become a beautiful and loving kid.
After her awry relationship with Aubry, Berry went on to meet singer-songwriter Olivier Martinez, who became her third husband. However, their marriage only lasted three years before their relationship also ended in divorce. They had a child together named Maceo-Robert Martinez, 9. According to People Magazine, his name means “gift of God.”
Maceo and his mom shared a rather unique and physically-demanding bonding moment. During the pandemic, Berry used her son as an alternative dumbbell as she did her squats for a fitness Friday routine.
In an InStyle profile, Berry revealed a great realization that many mothers could relate to.
“Being a mom is the best job … the only thing I want at the end of the day is for my children to say, ‘You weren’t perfect, you didn’t do everything right, but you were a good mom.’”
