Most people growing up in the 90s know Gwen Stefani as the singer of the ska-punk band No Doubt. This band was one of the breakout acts of the 90s, with a successful career that spawned hit albums and multiple chart-topping singles. They had a great run, but like all things, it couldn't last forever. When No Doubt went on hiatus, Gwen Stefani launched a successful solo career as a pop artist. Since then, she's released multiple albums and toured around the world, delighting audiences with her hit singles.
She's done more in one lifetime than most people would accomplish in 10 lifetimes. And now that she's one of the most famous acts in the world, Gwen would be well within her rights to retire and spend the rest of her life collecting her royalties. But instead, Gwen decided to give back to the music industry. In 2014, she joined the hit reality TV show The Voice to encourage and mentor young up-and-coming starlets.

Throughout her tenure at The Voice, Gwen has helped countless young singers on their way to stardom. She also met her future husband Blake Shelton on the show when they both joined the cast of The Voice in 2014. Now she's happily engaged to Shelton with three boys from a previous marriage. It seems that Gwen has it all. But maybe there's just one thing that's missing in her life.
One of this season's most popular contestants is Larriah Jackson. At her young age, Larriah's already seen a lot of struggles in her life. According to the Daily Mail, her father abandoned her when she was a child, which also cut her off from her large extended family. As Larriah became increasingly famous for her singing, two half-sisters she had never seen before came up to her at one of her concerts. Larriah was introduced to two new siblings that she didn't even know existed. Later, she was introduced to seven other half-siblings that she'd never met. Now Larriah has an incredible voice as well as a big, happy family to support her in her endeavors.
In a recent episode, Larriah performed a cover of "I'll Be There" by The Jackson 5. Gwen seemed to be delighted by Larriah's version of this hit song. When her performance was over, Gwen said "Everybody knows that I just want a daughter – Is that weird?" Excited that Maybe Larriah might become her The Voice-'daughter' that she has always wanted, Gwen added: "I know that this is meant to be!"
Gwen has three boys from her previous marriage to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Raising three children can be a blast, but it's also a lot of work. And it's even more work if you're stuck raising three boys without a girl to balance out the testosterone
There's also a sizable age difference: her oldest son is 14 years old, while the youngest is only six. That's a lot of work for Gwen to manage on top of all her other commitments. Every mother of boys has wondered what it'd be like to raise a daughter. It seems that Gwen might have finally found this daughter in Larriah, the undeniably talented teenager who seems to be destined for the charts. Plus, she's only a year older than Gwen's oldest son.
In the episode, Gwen said that she loves working with young female starlets because they give her an opportunity to share everything she's learned on her own journey to stardom. Maybe she sees part of herself in Larriah. And it's not hard to see why—Gwen rose to fame at a young age and is still one of the most recognizable acts of the 21st century. It's not easy for a young woman to manage the challenges of fame and fortune. Maybe Gwen wishes that she had a mentor to help her along the way, just like she helps these young contestants on The Voice.
Whatever the case, it's clear that Gwen would love to have Larriah on her team. We think they'd be lucky to have each other. Gwen could teach Larriah advanced vocal techniques and give her the training she needs to rocket to stardom. With a little help, Larriah could be the next big pop act that's topping the charts. And when she's famous, she'll be able to thank her mentor Gwen Stefani. How many people can say they've been mentored by one of the most famous pop artists in the world?
The Voice is the perfect avenue for experienced singers like Gwen to train the next generation of popular acts. We can't wait to see where Larriah goes from here as she charms audiences across the world with her beautiful voice.
