A day at the dog park is usually fun for both canines and their human owners. In Chicago, the Fred Anderson Dog Park is a favorite for many.

A woman by the name of Deborah brought her pup to the park and expected to have a fun day like usual. Unfortunately, it wasn't so enjoyable.

On that Thursday morning, another dog owner arrived with his canine. However, instead of going inside and interacting with his dog, he left the dog totally by itself, unattended. Deborah and others in the park were shocked at what they witnessed.

The poor dog had no ID or tags showing who owned it. It was very confused and nervous as the owner walked away. As time passed and the owner didn't return, the witnesses grew concerned about the dog's welfare. They contacted a local animal rescue for assistance.

Deborah expressed concern that the dog was abandoned.

“I felt he was abandoned,” Deborah told CBS Chicago

After a half-hour, the man returned. That's when Deborah decided to take action. She took out her camera and confronted the owner.

Now, the man didn't want to hear anything she was saying. However, Deborah refused to stop. She wanted him to learn a lesson.

The man decided that yelling and being belligerent was the best approach. Deborah's concern was for the dog, not the owner's feelings. The dog park is not a place to dump a dog while you go run errands.

Apparently, this wasn't the first time according to another woman in the park that day. She saw the man do it before.

It's irresponsible for the owner and dangerous for the dog. Without its owner near, the dog was in stress and constantly on the lookout.

It hung around the gate looking for its owner. At one point, it got out of the enclosure.
