An ordinary bike ride in Spain turned into an animal rescue in the blink of an eye.

Five cyclists interrupted their quiet ride to be part of a rescue of a deer trapped in water. The group spotted the trapped deer and knew that they had to do what they could to help the poor animal. Many parts of Spain had been besieged by flooding due to recent heavy rainfall across the region, which led to the deer's entrapment.

The rescue took place in a rural area in Huéscar reports The Daily Mail. This region had been hit especially hard by an abundance of rain, trapping the deer in the floodwaters. The cyclists noticed that the deer was trying to get out of the raging waters but could not seem to get a grip on the rocks to pull itself up.

The five cyclists sprung into action and began to pull the deer by its antlers so that it could gain the traction needed to climb out of the water. Although one of the cyclists fell to the ground helping to free the trapped animal, nobody was hurt. Once the deer had been freed, it quickly ran off into the woods and the cyclists continued on their bikes.

This video will leave you on the edge of your seat as you watch the cyclists work to free the trapped deer.

After you have watched the heroic rescue, be sure to spread the story to everyone else that you know. These rescuers deserve to be honored for their commitment to rescuing the helpless deer.
